Founded in 2017, AROMAG(岩兰) is the FIRST independent high-end perfume brand in China, devoted to serving consumers who have an affection for and familiarity with Chinese heritages, the brand strives to provide exquisite fragrances imbued with the essence and cultural aesthetics of the ancient heritage.

Their Inspiration

AROMAG(岩兰) has consistently drawn inspiration from the Far East cultural aesthetics. Maintaining a sense of "Liubai" and "restraint" in olfactory creation is a distinctive design feature of AROMAG’s products. This approach liberates the expression of an “oriental-style" personality from noises, guiding it back to a serene and peaceful inner self.

MEET THE PERFUMERS

Dominique Ropion

Ropion's creations are celebrated for their precise olfactory balance and impeccable composition. As a bold perfectionist, he embraces risks to craft masterpieces that distinguish themselves in the industry. His perfumes resemble architectural marvels, blending bold, potent ingredients with carefully calibrated, subtle notes, resulting in compositions that stand solidly on their own.

A renowned French master perfumer born in Paris in 1955, who studied at the Roure Bertrand Dupont school in Grasse and began his career at Roure Bertrand laboratories. He has worked with various well-known prestigious brands and became a part of International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. in 2000. Recognized with numerous awards, including the Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres(2012) and title of Mater Perfumer(2018), Ropion's dedication and artistry have solidified his status as one of the fragrance industry's most esteemed figures.

Frank Voelkl

A contemporary adventurer with over 20 years of experience in the fragrance industry, Frank draws inspiration from his travels to French Polynesia, describing the islands as filled with the purest scents of nature. He believes in crafting fragrances that connect with the soul and evoke profound emotions, aiming to elicit 'pure, unadulterated happiness.' His experience spans across various prestigious brands, reflecting his dedication to creating emotionally resonant scents inspired by nature and exploration.

Born in Germany, he developed a keen sense of smell influenced by the barnyard odours and fresh rain at his uncle's farm. After spending formative years in France and the Netherlands, he was inspired by his mother’s rich chypre fragrances and the bold scents of the 80s, which sparked his interest in a perfumery career. He studied at ISIPCA in France, where he created his first fragrance, a tribute to his Tahitian wife. He is currently a Senior Perfumer at Firmenich.

Olivier Cresp

A legendary French perfumer, widely recognised as one of the most influential figures in the fragrance industry. As a food lover with an appreciation for all things refined, and his perfumes are thoughtfully designed, meticulously crafted, and timeless. Known for his exceptional creativity and mentorship of new talent, he seeks powerful and unique concepts that leave a lasting impression, solidifying his reputation as a true legend in the world of fragrance.

Born in Grasse, the heart of French perfumery, he grew up in a family deeply rooted in fragrance, with a great-grandfather who cultivated roses and jasmine and a grandfather who traded natural ingredients. Spending hours in flower fields with his father, he developed a keen olfactory memory and artistic sensibility. He began his career in Firmenich in 1992, quickly establishing himself as an innovative perfumer, having received numerous awards, including Master Perfumer in 2006 and Perfumer of the Year in 2007, and he founded his family brand in 2018.

Ane Anyo

Travel is a deep source of inspiration for Ane, particularly her fascination with Japan, which enchants her with its culture, gastronomy, and art. Her strong interests in painting, fashion, dance, fabrics, and colours frequently inform her perfume creations. To her, perfumery enables her to express her aesthetic sensibility and personality while exploring new horizons in the world around her.

Based in Paris, France, Ane has a multicultural background that shapes her creative approach to perfumery. Growing up in Bilbao, Spain, she later studied in the United Kingdom before working in France, allowing her to draw inspiration from diverse sources. Initially a pharmacy student, Ane discovered her passion for perfumery after being inspired by a newspaper article about master perfumer Alberto Morillas. She then pursued an MBA in perfume and fashion management, followed by studies at the Grasse Institute of Perfumery.

Nicolas Beaulieu

Beaulieu’s developed a deep appreciation for natural ingredients and their harvesting processes was developed after joining Laboratories Monique Remy(LMR) which led to his unique approach to perfume creation. Driven by his love for nature and oenology, he is always exploring new, raw and synthetic materials that promise a wealth of fragrant possibilities.

Growing up in a home with a large garden, he was surrounded by the fragrances of nature and the melodies of opera. His olfactory memories are filled with the enveloping scent of his grandmother's house. Although he initially aspired to become an archaeologist, his path shifted when he learned about ISIPCA, the prestigious French school of perfumery and has now become a renowned perfumer at International Flavors & Fragrances(IFF)

Florian Gallo

As a true millennial, Florian embraces new technologies and artificial intelligence as tools to enhance his creative process. His passion for discovery and exploration, his innovative approach in perfumery, his dedication and his constant hunt for new ideas has made him a rising start in the world of perfumery.

Raised in Paris by scientist parents, he was set up for a path in engineering. However, his shared passion of cooking with his mother has developed a creative curiosity within him. Which coupled by his determination to enter the perfume industry, he eventually was admitted into ISIPICA in 2012 and later the Robertet school in Grasse. In 2019, he was honored with the International Perfumer-Creator award from the Société Française des Parfumeurs for a tobacco-themed composition, reflecting his belief that sensitivity to emotions and raw materials is a strength that enriches his artistry.
