Inspiration: The hibiscus tree, a pair of towering mulberries intertwined. From their branches, the sun goddess Xihe begins her celestial journey each day, driving her chariot of flames across the sky. The tree was once the gateway between the heavens, earth, and underworld—until the hero Hou Yi stood atop it to shoot down the suns, severing the connection between the worlds forever.
Scent: It smells like crushed leaves and the green juice of freshly snapped stems. A hint of bitterness cuts through the air, tempered by the freshness of water. As the scent evolves, the sharp green notes soften, leaving behind a graceful, lingering gardenia, like a flower blooming in the evening light.
